People make a day trip out of it on Saturday, as it's an hour west of Waco, about two hours from Austin, and a three hour drive from most of DFW. Many people make it a
multi-day event as there are 32 RV slots on site, and several places to stay in nearby Gatesville and Evant. For more information plan your visit with
more details about nearby sleeping options.
As of Jan 2022, we are rebuilding the community after the COVID lockdowns so most people don't come earlier than Friday,
but it used to be common to have quite a few people come in on Thursday or earlier! If you come early, don't be surprised if some of the locals check in - they take a lot of pride in
the Community Center so they check on the building and RV sites fairly often.

February jam is confirmed a go for 2/5/22. The Weather Underground 10-Day forecast for Gatesville is a
good reference site to check the weather. As of 1/25/2022 it doesn't quite go through Pearl weekend, so we don't quite have info on the potential for ice, but it does show a strong cold front
coming through on Thursday. It's Texas, so you'll just want to keep an eye out to see if 24 to 48 hours later if we'll need parkas, or shorts and flip flops.

3 pm and 4pm slots are still open, but you never know when an improptu band scramble will happen!
The dates for the rest of the year are: March 5th, April 2nd, May 7th, June 4th, July 2nd, Aug 6th, Sept 10 (remember - 2nd saturday in September), Oct 1, Nov 5, and Dec 3.
COVID Safety
Safety first - please do what you feel necessary to stay safe, and if that means waiting a month or more for the latest caseload to die down... we'd rather see you
later than not see you at all! The latest CDC information can be found here. No masks or vaccinations
are required at this time. The New York Times Texas Covid Tracker has the latest information.
(Jan 25, 2022) but please do your part to slow the spread. When the weather is nice we open up the building to get a nice breeze. February is often the coldest month,
but after that the temperatures are often condusive to opening up the doors, and playing outside.
